Here at Reef Advice we believe in the basic standards of ethical fish-keeping. The owners of the animals are completely responsible for their animals and their well-being. Any discussion of doing things that are unethical to fish will be deleted and Reef Advice is of no association with the users actions.

Here at Reef Advice we completely agree and understand your 1st amendment right of "Freedom of Speech". Each and every person is entitled to this, however Reef Advice does not have to publish your speech on our sight. Reef Advice is not a public resource, it is privately owned and if posts are outside of the stated guidelines we have the right to alter or delete it.
Advertising and Sponsoring Vendors
Here at Reef Advice advertising without official consent from the owners is against forum rules will be deleted. We accept Sponsorship from any aquaria-related company and they are encouraged to become active in our community.
Insulting another company on the forum will not be tolerated.
Dissing and promotions from another site will not be tolerated.
Sponsors may post verifiable facts about their product only to prove a point.

Account Closure, Concerns, and Site Moderation
If any Reef Advice staff members feel as if rules are violated we have every right to take action. If a staff member deletes/edits your post, or assigns you a punishment and you disagree with it, you may contact the the concerned moderator or another staff member. Angering a staff member will most likely result in your peril. Reposting deleted material will result in more punishment.
To request a change to your account, contact a Administrator, not Moderator.
Any participant may only have one account. You will be given a chance to prove any duplicate account is not yours. Most likely it will end up in deletion of one or both of the accounts being merged.
Deleting an account is very difficult, especially if the account has many posts. In a scenario as such, we will change account information to not match the previous. If an account has no or little posts, and hasn't been on a long time, the account will be deleted. In deleting or altering an account, the original username will be displayed in quoted posts and your altered account can be found by pressing it.
If any of these rules must be interpreted, it is left up to the staff ultimately. If you have any questions, please contact us.
